Lulu Lutfi Labibi, The Talented Designer from Yogyakarta Won LPM 2011

Lulu Lutfi Labibi, 29 years old, talented designer from Yogyakarta has won the Fashion Design Competition (Lomba Perancang Mode / LPM) events . With his collection “Local Glory” Lulu combines various traditional textile such as contemporary batik, Yogyakarta lurik, Klaten goyor and Jepara tie dye ikat. He created a collection adorned with draping technique that looks both gorgeous and modern.

Therefore Lulu won the first winner prizes which is US$ 4,000. His victory also won him a scholarship to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, USA.

Jogja Fashion Week 2011 is Ready To Held

Yogyakarta, Tuesday, 13 Oct, 2011. JFW 2011 Press Conference has been held to explain the preparation of Jogja Fashion Week 2011 event 2 – 6 November 2011. Afif Syakur said, “ Preparation is running good, the designers were ready and the designs this year are involving than last year,and thenumber of designer who follow JFW were liven up”.

With the theme ‘In Vintage’ and the concept of ready to wear the designers were expected to make product that reachable in price. Vintage refer to the design and also the material of the design, it can be bring batik, lurik, or any traditional material into the design. This even of JFW will be a great reason to come to Jogjakarta enjoying the atmosphere of Jogjakarta and be witness of biggest fashion event in Jogjakarta, Jogja Fashion Week 2011.

Jogja Fashion Week 2011 : In Vintage

Biggest fashion event in Yogyakarta, "Jogja Fashion Week" will be relaunch at june 2011, but the main event will be in November 2011. As the most wanted fashion event for fashionista and also for fashion creator this event has contiunaly held for years.

Since 2006 this event first time held Jogja Fashion Week always bring new concept and theme, at 2006 JFW brought The Expression of Traditions as the theme remarking the condition at that time that the local product is decreasing. The number of local craftman especialy for Batik and Lurik as local heritage also dramaticaly decreas because of globalizations effect, that condition bring big concern from GKR Pembayun, Afif Syakur and Alm.Isman Indarto to create an event to bring the spirit and passion for local product to improve and be stronger. The idea also supported by “Balai Pelayanan Bisnis Disperindagkop”, “Dinas Pariwisata Propinsi” and also “Dinas Pendidikan dan Budaya”. Then the idea was born as Jogja Fashion Week 2006, The Expression of Traditions at November 30 – Desember 3rd 2006.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011: Styling Modernity

Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011 has been held. The event which took place from  06 - 12 November 2010 in Pacific Place Jakarta was opened by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Fauzi Bowo on November 06, 2010. This year the theme of Jakarta Fashion Week are Styling Modernity, the event was organized by Azura Activation, part of the Femina Group. 150 designers, 43 shows, and 33 fashion brands participating in this event. This event aims to promote the fashion world in Indonesia, as well as make Jakarta and Indonesia as one of Asia's fashion center.
JFW 2010/2011 closed by Basril Djamal on November 12, 2010. The visitors of annual event JFW 2010/2011 approximately 25.000 people with 43 buyers from domestic and overseas witnessed around 7000 pieces of beautiful clothing from 150 designers. Jakarta Fashion Week 2010/2011 also managed to raise a donation of IDR 838,9 million collected for the dissaster affected communities in Indonesia.

Jogja Fashion Week Release: The Recent Future

Jogja Fashion Week 2010, the annual event is held again. The event begins on 27-31 October 2010 in Arjuna Hall Fl. 2 Jogja Expo Center (JEC) will be followed by 50 national designers. With the theme "the recent future". The Designers will feature designs that ready to use in a variety of themes including Ferry Setiawan who will carry the theme of "Kencono Ungu" and Endarwati with the design theme of "The Aphrodite"; in the release of Jogja Fashion Week press conference held on Wednesday 20 October 2010. At the press conference, explained also that the performances of Jogja Fashion Week this year will be enlivened with a carnival on the opening day of 27 October 2010 and exhibition on fashion products from 27-30 October 2010 in A B C Hall Fl. 1 Jogja Expo Center (JEC). In the performance of Jogja Fashion Week, the designers will select 10 guests with the best fashion.
