Jogja Fashion Week 2011 : In Vintage

Biggest fashion event in Yogyakarta, "Jogja Fashion Week" will be relaunch at june 2011, but the main event will be in November 2011. As the most wanted fashion event for fashionista and also for fashion creator this event has contiunaly held for years.

Since 2006 this event first time held Jogja Fashion Week always bring new concept and theme, at 2006 JFW brought The Expression of Traditions as the theme remarking the condition at that time that the local product is decreasing. The number of local craftman especialy for Batik and Lurik as local heritage also dramaticaly decreas because of globalizations effect, that condition bring big concern from GKR Pembayun, Afif Syakur and Alm.Isman Indarto to create an event to bring the spirit and passion for local product to improve and be stronger. The idea also supported by “Balai Pelayanan Bisnis Disperindagkop”, “Dinas Pariwisata Propinsi” and also “Dinas Pendidikan dan Budaya”. Then the idea was born as Jogja Fashion Week 2006, The Expression of Traditions at November 30 – Desember 3rd 2006.

At 2007 the second time JFW been held take theme “Essentially Global”, to push the production from local product for national and international market facing globalization that strongly endanger local product. The third JFW held in 2008 with theme “Culturally Plural” the idea is to bring the power of togetherness from any area in Jogjakartan with their own unique local product for together facing the competition in Nasional and international.

Budaya In Motion, as the mark of culture movement to be better and flexible following the era changing. Became the theme for JFW in 2009. And in 2010 “The Recent Future” bring idea to improve the quality from the local product, todays for tommorow. The better local product quality today the better result in future.

Followed by greates designer and fashionista in Jogjakarta this JFW event have improvement in every year, that is why this year JFW will be held again. Bring the theme “In Vintage” following the global fashion trend Jogja Fashion Week 2011 will bring the power of past tradition with its luxury and greatness in design line of ready to waer design to compete with nasional and international market.
